Dick Jaspers on an incredible level

The two first winners in the tournament are known. Dick Jaspers from Holland and Roland Forthomme from Belgium have qualified for the next round in the “Agipi Billiard Masters”. Jaspers played in the evening session on an incredible level. He was in his match against Jeremy Bury 32-22 behind after 15 innings. Three innings later he finished, with runs of 7, 6 and 22 (!).

The Dutch player said after the match that he never made two such a high runs on one day. With his performance on this first day, in his games against Eddy Leppens, Roland Forthomme and Jérémy Bury, he earned 7650 euros ! ”I’m very happy and want to thank the organization for this fantastic tournament’’, he said.
At one moment of the game against Bury it seemed that Jaspers could loose and had to leave the tournament. But then the Dutchman exploded in three innings.

Dick Jaspers came through the group D, as well as Roland Forthomme. In the evening, against Leppens, he finished in 29 innings. Forthomme played 2.000 general average. Dick Jaspers was even much better with 2.419 overall
The two winners of the day will come back in march playing the next stage of the tournament.

The Dutch player Dick Jaspers had a tremendous game in the second session of the day. In his fight against Roland Forthomme, that ended in a 50-50, Jaspers made a run of twenty points. The audience rewarded him with loud cheering for this performance.

Jaspers took only one time-out, before making his tenth point, that was a very difficult one. After he made it, he went on in a flow. The 21th point seemed to be an easy one, but he missed.

The match ended in a tough fight, after Jaspers produced another big run of twelve in the 18th running. He was close to finish, but Forthomme had a strong finish. He made eleven in the 20th inning and equalized from acquit: 50-50 in 22.
In the shadow of that great match there was another between Jeremy Bury and Eddy Leppens. They were playing a long time on an average of two, but finished a little lower. Bury won in 30 innings (50-48) and still has a chance to reach the second round. He has to beat Dick Jaspers in the last session.

 
     
     
  Forthomme and Jaspers start on very high level

The Dutch former World Champion Dick Jaspers and the Belgian Roland Forthomme are the winners of the first session in the Agipi Billard Masters. They beat respectively Jérémy Bury (France) and Eddy Leppens from Belgium. The two games were played on a very high level.

Roland Forthomme had a very good start. He was the man of the match, making brilliant runs of nine (twice) and eight (twice). That’s why he took a large advantage on Jérémy Bury. Forthomme finished with eight in the 24th inning (50-25).

Dick Jaspers did even better with his average, without excelling in high runs and after a cold start. But he scored very regularly and beat Leppens with 50-29 in 22 innings.
